Working with an ICL-approved trainer

Members of the Institute of Certified Locksmiths (ICL) are trading locksmiths of the highest standard who specialise in domestic, commercial, automotive and safe work. All ICL members are trained, assessed and fully vetted, and student members who are in the process of training are actively encouraged to meet those standards.

The Locksmiths Training Centre uses only ICL-approved trainers to give their courses.

Successfully completing our Standard Locksmithing course will allow you to apply to enter the ICL as a Student, and the successful completion of the Advanced Locksmithing course will allow you to apply for Advanced Student status. This will provide you an immediate professional advantage:

• The ICL is the only association whose members offer a guaranteed non-destructive locksmith service to the customer, promising value for money and quality workmanship
• ICL represents locksmiths who have attained the highest standards possible in the profession. It is a non-profit making organisation set up and run by working locksmiths
• ICL offers the customer a recourse and arbitration service
• All ICL Students are given a membership card and certificate of membership
• The use of the ICL logo identifies our members and is an assurance for the public and organisations who wish to utilise locksmith services; as an Advanced Student member, you will able to use the institute logo for advertising purposes; embroidered workwear is available to all members at a reasonable price.
