Free locksmithing equipment
Students enrolling for the Standard or Advanced Locksmithing courses will be supplied with:- a 16-piece pick set
- a supply of mica
- practice locks
- reference material.
ICL eligibility
Successfully completing our Standard Locksmithing course will allow you to enter the ICL as a Student, and the successful completion of the Advanced Locksmithing course will allow you to become an ICL Advanced Student member.
Locksmith meetings
We organise informal locksmith meetings in conjunction with the ICL and all students are invited to join us at these events. Typically we organise an event each quarter – usually a barbecue – and this gives you an opportunity to meet other locksmiths and learn new tricks and tips.
Discounted ICL tools
All our students also have the opportunity to buy ICL tools at a discount price. For example, the very high quality ICL Curtain Pick (shown) is designed to pick British Standard and other curtained mortice locks, with a number of unique features:- Two bodies come as standard – a 5/5.5-gauge and a 7-gauge body, both machined to a high quality from marine grade steel to resist any rusting
- Very strong left and right wires, both machined and hardened from a single piece of steel (so there will be no failure at the pick end, unlike other curtain picks)
- No set up time to switch hands – each wire has its own aluminium fully adjustable handle that can be stored flat without disassembly
- An easy slide tension bar that doesn't need a tool to adjust its position
- A free-moving mechanism with no restrictive collar to assist the picking of low levers
- Complete with robust box with pre-cut foam insert for easy and secure storage; the box is embossed with the ICL logo
